Description:
Indications of Azelec 10
Azelec cream is used to treat mild to moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris on the skin.
Pharmacology of Azelec 10
The antimicrobial activity of azelaic acid has been demonstrated against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidennidis. It’s possible that the antibacterial activity is due to the suppression of microbial cellular protein production. Azelaic acid’s therapeutic efficacy may potentially be due to a normalization of keratinization that leads to an anticomedonal effect.
Dosage & Administration
After the skin is thoroughly washed and patted dry, a thin film of Azelec should be gently but thoroughly massaged into the affected areas twice daily, in the morning and evening. The hands should be washed following application. Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients under 12 years of age have not been established. Or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Individuals who have exhibited hypersensitivity to any of the components of azelaic acid should avoid it.
Side Effects of Azelec 10
In rare situations, local skin irritation (e.g., erythema, scaling, itching, or burning) occurs, generally at the commencement of treatment. The majority of the time, however, the discomfort is minor and subsides as the treatment progresses.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category B, according to the FDA. This medication should only be used during pregnancy if absolutely necessary. When administering Azelaic acid to a breastfeeding mother, extreme caution is advised.
Precautions & Warnings
Only for external use. If Azelaic acid gets into contact with the eyes, it should be properly washed with plenty of water right away. If eye inflammation persists, people should see a doctor.
