Description:

Indication

A skin-related drug called Melacare Cream 20 gm is primarily used to treat melasma (dark brown patch on skin). Brown patches on the face are a typical symptom of melasma, commonly known as chloasma or the pregnancy mask. Women are more likely than men to experience it. The forehead, chin, nose, and cheeks are the main locations for the discolored (grey-brown) patches to appear.

Pharmacology

Three medications can be included in Melacare Cream 20 gm, including Hydroquinone (a bleaching or skin-lightening agent), Mometasone (a corticosteroid), and Tretinoin (a form of Vitamin A or retinoids). Hydroquinone is a member of the group of skin-lightening substances that acts by reducing the production of melanin, a skin pigment that causes the skin to darken. Mometasone is a member of the corticosteroid family and prevents the release of specific chemical messengers in the body that produce swelling, itching, and redness by working inside skin cells. Tretinoin is a member of the group of retinoids (artificial forms of vitamin A) that increase skin cell renewal, aiding in the natural exfoliation of the epidermis.

Dosage & Administration

Hydroquinone, a skin-whitening chemical that blocks the tyrosinase enzyme, which is in charge of producing the melanin that causes pigmentation, is a component of MELACARE CREAM, which aids in the treatment of melasma. Thus, it aids in the lightening of skin’s black patches. By thickening the skin layer and reducing the number of keratinized cells, tretinoin aids in the recovery of photodamaged skin. It aids with skin regeneration. Mometasone furoate decreases redness, swelling, and itching brought on by tretinoin and other skin infections by blocking prostaglandin synthesis.
