Indications of Clindacin Plus 15 Topical Gel

Clindamycin with Tretinoin gel is used to treat acne vulgaris on a topical basis.

Pharmacology of Clindacin Plus 15 Topical Gel

Clindamycin phosphate, a lincosamide antibiotic, is combined with Tretinoin, a retinoid. Clindamycin binds to the 50s ribosomal subunit of sensitive bacteria, preventing peptide chain elongation and inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis by interfering with peptidyl transfer. Clindamycin decreases the incidence of acne by inhibiting the action of Propionibacterium acne. Tretinoin reduces the cohesion of follicular epithelial cells and promotes turn over, causing comedones to emerge.

Dosage & Administration of Clindacin Plus 15 Topical Gel

Before sleep: Wash the face gently with a mild soap and water, then pat the skin dry. Apply the Gel with finger tips through the face gently.

In the morning: Apply a sunscreen after the application of Gel. Do not wash your face more than 2 or 3 times a day. Apply the sunscreen cream as needed.

Safety and effectiveness in children below 12 years of age have not been established.

Interaction of Clindacin Plus 15 Topical Gel

• Other potentially irritating topical treatments (medicated or abrasive soaps and cleansers, soaps and cosmetics with a strong drying effect, products with high concentrations of alcohol, astringents, spices, or lime) should be used with caution when used together.
• When Clindamycin and Erythromycin are used together, the action of both drugs is reduced. Clindamycin should not be used with Erythromycin at the same time.
• When used in conjunction with neuromuscular medication, the neuromuscular medicine’s activity is enhanced. As a result, caution should be exercised while using these products together.

Contraindications

Individuals who are hypersensitive to Clindamycin, Tretinoin, or any other component of the Gel should not be given Clindamycin or Tretinoin.

Side Effects of Clindacin Plus 15 Topical Gel

The most frequent adverse effects include erythema, scaling, nasopharyngitis, dry skin, cough, sinusitis, and diarrhea.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Clindamycin and Tretinoin are not known to be excreted in human milk. When using Clindamycin or Tretinoin on a breastfeeding woman, use extreme care.

Precautions & Warnings

Clindamycin with Tretinoin should not be used to treat infections of the eyes, nose, ear, lips, cut, or burn. Keep the Gel out of direct sunlight once it has been applied.
