Indication:
Closon cream is indicated for the topical treatment of
- Itching
- Redness
- Swelling
- Treatment of athlete’s foot
- Treatment of jock itch
- Treatment of ringworm
- Prevention of oral thrush
- Relief of itching, burning, cracking, and scaling associated with athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm
- Inflammatory dermal infections like tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, etc.
Pharmacology
Closon Cream contains Betamethasone Valerate and Clotrimazole as active ingredients. Closon Cream works by inhibiting the formation, activity, and release of different cells and chemicals; inhibiting the growth of fungi;
Dosage & Administration:
Sufficient cream should be applied onto the affected and surrounding skin areas twice a day, in the morning and evening, for 2 weeks in tinea cruris and tinea corporis and for 4 weeks in tinea pedis. The use of cream for longer than four weeks is not recommended.
Interactions with Closon Cream
If you use other drugs or over-the-counter products at the same time, the effects of Closon Cream may change. This may increase your risk for side effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that your doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Closon Cream may interact with the following drugs and products:
- Clopidogrel
- Diphenhydramine
- Furosemide
- Latex contraceptives
- Rosuvastatin
Contrandication
Hypersensitivity to Closon Cream is a contraindication. In addition, Closon Cream should not be used if you have the following conditions:
- The first trimester of pregnancy
- Hypersensitivity
- Hypersensitivity to imidazole
Side-effects
- Skin irritation
- Thinning of the skin
- Changes in skin pigmentation and coloration
- Stretch marks
- Excessive hair growth
- Itching
- Burning
- Irritation
- Redness
- Swelling
- Stomach pain
- Fever
- Foul-smelling discharge if using the vaginal product
- Upset stomach
- Vomiting if using the lozenges
Precautions & Warnings
Before using Closon Cream, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over-the-counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below.
- Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome
- Alcohol use
- Allergic reaction to this drug
- Avoid contact with eyes
- Avoid contact with the eyes for cream
- Cautiously use in children
- Diabetes
- Do not use in children under 2 years of age unless directed by a doctor
- Do not use on diaper rash
- History of alcohol abuse
- do not take it by mouth. Consult with your doctor before using this medicine on open wounds, or dry, chapped, irritated, or sunburned skin.
- wash your hands before and after applying Closon Cream. Clean and dry the skin area to be treated.
- do not wash the treated area after immediately applying Closon Cream. Also, avoid the use of other products on the treated area unless directed by your doctor.
- applying an excessive amount may result in pilling. Use a thinner layer or a lesser quantity of medicine to avoid pilling.
- avoid getting this medication in your eyes or nose or mouth.

Storage of Closon Cream
- Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless required by package insert. Keep medicines away from children and pets.
