Description:

Indications of Clovate N 10 Cream

This preparation is for Recalcitrant eczema treatment in short courses, Neurodermatoses, and when a secondary bacterial infection or fungal infection is present, suspected, or likely to occur in a case of psoriasis (aside from widespread plaque psoriasis).

Pharmacology of Clovate N 10 Cream

A topical corticosteroid with high potency is clobetasol propionate. It functions as a vasoconstrictor, anti-inflammatory, and antipruritic. Through a variety of anti-inflammatory effects, it prevents late-phase allergic reactions. Chemotaxis, eosinophil activation, and mast cell density are all decreased. Additionally, it lessens the production of cytokines and inhibits arachidonic acid metabolism.

Interaction of Clovate N 10 Cream

After significant systemic absorption, neomycin sulfate can intensify and prolong the respiratory depression caused by neuromuscular blockers. Neomycin sulfate’s systemic exposure is anticipated to be minimal when used as directed, and significant drug interactions are highly unlikely. There have been no reports of harmful interactions between nystatin and clobetasol propionate.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in rosacea, acne vulgaris, and perioral dermatitis, primary skin viral infections (for example, herpes simplex, chickenpox), and those who are allergic to the preparation.

Side Effects of Clovate N 10 Cream

Long-term widespread application or widespread treatment, similar to other topical corticosteroids, may result in sufficient systemic absorption and the symptoms of hypercortisolism. If an occlusive dressing is used, infants and young children are more likely to experience this effect. In particular, when the use of occlusive dressings or skin folds is impacted, intensive and prolonged treatment with highly active corticosteroid preparations can result in local atrophic changes in the skin, such as thinning, stretch marks, and superficial vasodilation. Topical steroids have reportedly been linked to hirsutism and changes in pigmentation.

Pregnancy & Lactation

There is little data to prove the possible effects of topical neomycin on pregnancy and lactation. However, neomycin present in maternal blood can cross the placenta and, in theory, may pose risks of fetal toxicity, so its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. The safety of clobetasol propionate in nursing mothers has not been established.

Precautions & Warnings

Long-term continuous topical treatment should be avoided as much as possible, especially in infants and children, because adrenal suppression is prone to occur even in the absence of occlusion. If applied to the eyelids, care must be taken to ensure that the preparation does not get into the eyes as it can cause glaucoma. If this medicine gets into your eyes, flush the affected eyes well with plenty of water.

Storage Conditions

Store below 25?C temperature. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
