Pharmaceutical Name of Eprim
Pharmacology
Improve the AGE composition of plasma, red blood cells, platelet lipids and tocopherol levels in non-diabetic patients and type 1 diabetic patients; increase the total fat and essential fatty acid content of breast milk; affect the serum of men with low DGLA levels Fatty acid composition of lipids and adipose tissue; helps maintain normal cell structure and the precursor of DGLA, it is the precursor of series 1 prostaglandin, as the precursor of arachidonic acid, is the precursor of series 2 prostaglandin.
Evening Primrose Oil provides Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). The biological activity of EPO is mainly due to its GLA content. By providing GLA, you can avoid the limiting steps of LA metabolism. After ingesting EPO, GLA is quickly absorbed and then directly converted into DGLA and other prostaglandin precursors. It also acts on the prostaglandin pathway.
Dosage & Administration
Atopic & Allergic Dermatitis:
Adult dosage: 1 capsule 2 times daily.
Children dosage: 1 capsule 1/2 times daily.
Benign Breast disease & Mastalgia: 1 capsule 2/3 times daily with or after meal.
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS): 1 Capsule 2 times daily at morning & night with or after meal.
Rheumatoid arthritis: 1 Capsule daily Or as directed by the registered physician.
Interaction of Eprim
Evening primrose oil can interact with medications used during surgery. A person taking evening primrose oil and other medications had seizures during surgery. But there is not enough information to know if evening primrose oil or other medications can cause seizures. Be sure to tell your doctor what natural products you are taking before the operation. To be safe, you should stop taking evening primrose oil at least 2 weeks before the operation.
Contraindications
Previously not recommended for patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. However, a recently published analysis of a clinical trial involving polyunsaturated fatty acids in the treatment of schizophrenia did not show that evening primrose oil supplements have obvious treatment or side effects for patients with schizophrenia.
Side Effects of Eprim
At the recommended dose, side effects are rare. Overdose can cause loose stools and abdominal pain.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Linolenic acid, GLA and DGLA are important components of breast milk, so it is your responsibility to ensure that you can take evening primrose oil while breastfeeding. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), pregnant or breastfeeding women should obtain 5% of their total daily caloric intake from essential fatty acids.
Precautions & Warnings
There is a concern that evening primrose might increase the chance of bruising and bleeding. Don’t use it if you have a bleeding disorder.
