Description:
Indications of Ezex 25 Ointment
Clobetasone formulations are approved to treat atopic eczema, photodermatitis, otitis externa, primary irritant allergic dermatitis (including napkin rash), intertrigo, prurigo nodularis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and insect bite responses. Clobetasone can be used as a maintenance treatment in between rounds of more potent topical steroids.
Pharmacology of Ezex 25 Ointment
Clobetasone Butyrate is a topically active corticosteroid with an excellent balance of activity and safety. It is more effective than 1 percent Hydrocortisone or the less active synthetic steroid formulations that are commonly used in the treatment of eczemas. It has minimal effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. If administered incorrectly, all topical corticosteroids can induce cutaneous atrophy. However, studies in animal and human models show that Clobetasone Butyrate produces less epidermal thinning than the other topical steroid examined.
