Description:
Indications of Flonasin
Azelastine fluticasone nasal spray is suitable for alleviating the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in patients 6 years and older who require treatment with azelastine hydrochloride and fluticasone propionate.
Pharmacology of Flonasin
Azelastine hydrochloride exhibits histamine H1 receptor antagonist activity in isolated tissues. The major metabolite desmethyl azelastine also has H1 receptor antagonist activity. Fluticasone propionate is a synthetic trifluoride corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory activity. The exact mechanism by which fluticasone propionate affects the symptoms of allergic rhinitis remains unclear. Corticosteroids have been shown to be involved in the inflammation of a variety of cell types (such as mast cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, macrophages, lymphocytes, etc.) and mediators (such as histamine, eicosanoid, white Trienes, and cytokines) have a wide range of effects.
Dosage & Administration
Adult: The recommended dosage is one spray on each nostril twice daily.
Pediatric: The safety and effectiveness of Azelastine Hydrochloride and Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray have not been established for patients less than 6 years of age.
Side Effects of Flonasin
The most common adverse reactions (incidence rate> 2%) are dysgeusia, epistaxis, and headache.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy category C. There are no adequate and well-controlled clinical trials using azelastine hydrochloride and fluticasone propionate nasal spray in pregnant women, only azelastine hydrochloride or fluticasone propionate nasal spray. It should be used for pregnant women only when the potential benefit to the mother justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Nursing mothers: I don’t know whether azelastine hydrochloride and fluticasone propionate nasal spray will be excreted from breast milk. Since many drugs are excreted in human milk, care should be taken when administering them to breastfeeding women.
Precautions & Warnings
When taking azelastine and fluticasone nasal spray, you should avoid dangerous occupations that require full vigilance, such as driving or operating machinery. Also avoid using alcohol or other central nervous system (CNS) depressants with this nasal spray, as it will further reduce alertness and central nervous system damage. Individuals susceptible to high or regular doses may experience hypercritical function and adrenal suppression. If such changes occur, the spray should stop slowly.
Storage Conditions
Store below 25?C. Keep away from light. Do not store it in the refrigerator. Keep out of reach of children.
