Indications of Sorex 5% Oral Paste

Sorex 5% Oral Paste is indicated for the treatment of aphthous ulcers in people with a typical resistant framework.

Pharmacology of Sorex 5% Oral Paste

The mechanism by which Amlexanox accelerates the healing of aphthous ulcers is unknown. Amlexanox has been shown in vitro to be a strong inhibitor of the arrangement and discharge of fiery intermediaries (histamine and leukotrienes) from pole cells, neutrophils, and mononuclear cells. Amlexanox, when administered orally to animals, demonstrated anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as the ability to suppress both immediate and delayed sort touchiness responses. Dosage & Administration  of Sorex 5% Oral Paste

Adults (over 18 years of age): 

  • After noticing the symptoms of an aphthous ulcer, apply the paste as soon as possible.
  • Continue to use the paste four times per day, preferably after breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bedtime.
  • Gently pat the ulcer(s) dry with a soft, clean cloth. Before applying, wash your hands.
  • Moisten the tip of the index finger and squeeze a dab of paste onto the fingertip, about 14 inches (0.5 cm).
  • Apply the paste to each ulcer gently. If more than one ulcer is present, repeat the procedure.
  • After application, wash your hands. Apply the paste to the ulcer until it heals.
  • If significant healing or pain relief has not occurred within 10 days, physician consultation is required.

Interaction of Sorex 5% Oral Paste

Antidepressants such as SSRIs and related antidepressants should not be started for at least two weeks after an MAOI has been discontinued. An MAOI, on the other hand, should not be started until at least one week after the discontinuation of an SSRI or similar antidepressant (2 weeks in the case of paroxetine and sertraline, at least 5 weeks in the case of fluoxetine).

Contraindications of Sorex 5% Oral Paste

Amlexanox verbal glue is contraindicated in patients with known extreme touchiness to Amlexanox or other fixings within the detailing.

Sorex 5% Oral Paste Side Effect

The most common side effects are transient pain, stinging, and/or burning at the site of application. The less frequent side effects are contact mucositis, nausea, and diarrhea.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy category B. No adverse fetal effects were observed during teratological studies on animals, but there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. So this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Lactation: Amlexanox was found in the milk of lactating rats; therefore, caution should be exercised when administering Amlexanox oral paste to a nursing woman.

Precautions & Warnings

  • Wash your hands immediately after applying Amlexanox verbal glue to ulcers with your fingertips.
  • If your eyes come into contact with the glue, wash them as soon as possible.
  • If you develop sudden or contact mucositis, stop using the product.
